EVER DREAMED about living a few days on an island away from it all !! Or have no people around you !!! Then this is your place !! (cellphone coverage, but you can mute).

AFTER AN AMAZINGLY beautiful 10-minute boat ride from Opua up the Waikare inlet, we will land at this secluded, romantic, hidden 2- bedroomed cottage, surrounded by native bush & trees and with breath taking water views.

This is Living with Nature at it's best

PURE SPRING WATER from our native valley, wood range and solar power gives you ample hot water for showers and the wooden hot tub, romantically build in between native trees out in the open air.

WE'LL SHOW YOU the firewood stock, your smokehouse, and explain about the walking tracks and where to go for horse riding, bird watching or kayaking.

YOU CAN SWIM AND FISH, do some netting from the wharf or rent our 16 ft runabout with 90 hp engine for an extra NZ$ 150 a day (excl. petrol), we'll tell you about waterskiing, the fishing spots for snapper, mullet, kahawai or where to find fresh oysters and mussels. You won't be hungry here!

THIS HIDEAWAY is romantic, adventurous and amazingly quiet, the only thing you will hear are lapping water and bird songs. This beautiful appointed cottage will accommodate 4 people in comfort and convenience, but can sleep 8 if required.

The Waikare Hideaway is situated on the bank of the 'Waikare Inlet', a 10 minute boat ride from the Opua Wharf.

The Waikare River flows from the Russell Forest, past Waikare and into the Waikare Inlet, which in turn flows into the Bay of Islands.

This a true hideaway, totally surrounded by native bush, with access only by boat, away from it all but with the township of Paihia only a short boat ride away (by boat to Opua Wharf then by road to Paihia).
